Services For 12+
We’re thrilled to introduce our latest project: an inclusive youth club tailored for young people aged 12 to 19 years old. We operate weekly inclusive youth activities specifically designed for those aged 13 to 19 years. These activities are youth-led, chosen by the participants, and include a diverse range of indoor/outdoor sessions, trips, and workshops.
Our primary objective is to implement sessions grounded in the Conductive Education approach, aiming to strengthen the inclusion of young people in educational, social, and employment spheres.
Building on what young people can do, we aim to:
- Cultivate Stronger Bonds: By fostering an environment where young individuals collaborate on various projects and social activities, we aim to nurture stronger friendships and build a sense of belonging.
- Foster Independence: Through tailored programmes in a safe environment, we equip young people with life skills essential for independent living as they transition into adulthood.
- Promote Active Lifestyles: We encourage and facilitate active lifestyles, fostering fitness and healthy habits among young participants.
- Explore and Support: We strive to explore the interests and talents of young individuals, providing them with opportunities to expand their knowledge, broaden their horizons, and thrive in life.
What to Expect:
The young people who attend sessions in the 12 -19 years’ service work towards the following goals:
- Enhancing Motor Skills: Improving motor planning, mobility, and functional hand skills.
- Boosting Cognitive Abilities: Enhancing concentration, motivation, and perseverance through various project-based activities.
- Improving Communication Skills: Participate in social interaction and communication through technology and a range of other communication tools.
- Fostering Social and Emotional Growth: Increasing self-awareness, confidence, and developing critical thinking and teamwork skills.
- Cultivating Self-Care and Independence: Building essential self-help and independent living skills.
Holiday Clubs:
We also run Holiday Clubs during the Easter break and two weeks during the Summer Holidays. These clubs provide a fantastic opportunity for young people to forge new friendships, have fun, and further develop their skills, preparing them for life’s challenges beyond the home environment.
Our experienced and qualified team, alongside trained volunteers, work closely with young participants. A group of up to six young people can attend either a morning/afternoon session or the full day, depending on the activities available.
For those not currently enrolled in Whoopsadaisy, joining is subject to a free assessment. For further details, please refer to our Admissions Policy and get in touch to book an assessment.
